Point of Hope Camp
REGISTER FOR 2010 CAMP
July 30 - August 1, 2010

Point of Hope Weekend Camp:
A Special Retreat for children, teens and adults.
Anyone who has experienced a recent loss is invited to register for this very special summer weekend.
Child and teen participants hike, swim, play group games, and take part in supportive discussions that help build trust, self-esteem, and coping skills. Adult campers have the chance to rejuvenate themselves after their loss. Most of all, they find comfort and relief from the isolation of grief.
All this in a beautiful, peaceful setting at the 4-H Conference Center in Front Royal, Va., a short distance from the Washington metropolitan area. .
Cost
Costs for participants will be covered by friends of Capital Hospice..
Location
Point of Hope Camp is held in a serene, private setting on the grounds of the 4-H Conference Center in Front Royal, Va.
Activities
All of the following activities are led and sponsored by Capital Hospice professionals and trained volunteers:
- Storytelling
- Recreational Activities
- Swimming
- Music
- Healing Circles
- Hiking
- Opening and Closing Activities
- Other Expressive Experiences

Each child is paired with an adult volunteer "Big Buddy" for the weekend. Children and Big Buddies participate together in all activities.
Volunteer!
Adult volunteers are needed to fill several roles:
- "buddies" (to a grieving child or young teen)
- activity coordinators
- fundraising assistants (throughout the year)
